Kasentouen, Seto

Kasumi visits a pottery factory. Considered mass production pottery sold at retail outlets and galleries.

With all the negative connotations about mass produced pots, they are still made by human hands, all persons with specialized tasks. Watching them work, there's nothing rough or "cheap" about their profession. All work with meticulous care but at double the speed.

Above: They prepare for the Japan Aichi Expo in March.
Below: Sample pottery exhibited in the gallery made in this studio.

Their gallery also carries established potters' work.
